Marie Ananian

Marie Ananian is a concert pianist invested in the art of classical music. A native to Japan, she received her first piano lessons at age 7 and began formal piano studies at age 11 with Kate Rubke-Foxworth and later with Dr. Elvin Rodriguez. She graduated the Certificate of Merit program receiving The Senior Award, given by the Music Teacher’s Association of California. Marie is frequently invited to perform in solo, chamber, and concerto performances. She has performed in master classes for renowned jury members including Grant William Naboré, Yoheved Kaplinsky, John Robilette, Norman Kreiger, Eric Le Van, and Robert Thies. A laureate of competitions, Marie won 1st prize in the Adult Concerto Competition by the Music Teachers Association of California, The Gail Newby Concerto Competition, Rotary International Piano Competition, Promising Young Artist at LSU, Riverside Young Pianist Competition, The Steinway Society Piano Festival (Solo and Concerto) Competition, and Montecito International Music Competition. Currently, she is an educator at her private studio, Marie Ananian Music studio, and the Yamaha music school.
