Leilani Kritzinger, soprano, teaches voice lessons through AVPA. She has been teaching people to sing in the La Sierra area since 2000, both through private lessons as well as ten years as the director of the La Sierra University Church Children’s Choir. A gifted teacher, Leilani creates an encouraging environment where students feel comfortable and confident as they work on sight singing, good vocal technique, learning repertoire, and performance skills. Leilani is committed to teaching healthy vocal technique that can be applied to any style of music. Leilani is a trained opera singer with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, vocal emphasis, from La Sierra University. She did a year and a half of post-graduate studies at La Sierra University and the University of Southern California (USC) before taking time off to start a family. In the last few years, Leilani has returned to performing, often sharing the stage with her four children. She has joined La Sierra Opera for three productions as Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance, Gretel in Hansel und Gretel, and the Queen of the Night in Mozart’s Die Zauberflote.
