Along with being a singer, writer, and aspiring conductor, she is also a member of the La Sierra University Chamber Singers, University Chorale, elite touring group UNITED, and a member of the gospel group Lifted Praise.
As a young girl, Alexandra studied piano, played the high bass in a steel pan chamber group, and then went on to study voice under the tutelage of Nevilla Ottley of the Ottley School of Music in Takoma Park, Maryland.
She has performed as a soloist, co-conductor, and member in the nationally renowned Pine Forge Academy Choir for four years, and in 2017 traveled with the group to perform across Jamaica (where her family is from) in churches and on two of the island’s local news stations all while serving as the school’s Music Coordinator and Praise Team Leader.
Alexandra currently studies voice under the direction of Dr. Raejin Lee and Dr. Craig Johnson and has also studied conducting with Dr. Ariel Quintana. In May 2018, she won the Third Place prize in the Marguerite Marsh Vocal Competition and in May 2019, competed again and won the Second Place Prize and the Audience Choice Award. In March 2019, she played Cinderella’s Stepmother in La Sierra University’s production of Into The Woods and in June 2019, played Giannetta in the University’s production of Elixir of Love. She is currently cast as Elsa in La Sierra University’s upcoming musical, The Sound of Music in February 2020. This is Alexandra’s first year as a Childrens’ choir instructor after starting in September of 2019.
